This Privacy Policy explains how SummaryThis (“we,” “us,” or “SummaryThis”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the SummaryThis mobile app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide the Service:

• Account information. Your email address when you create an account or join our early-access list. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and basic profile information from that provider.
• Recordings and transcripts. The conversations you choose to record are transcribed to text. The transcript, the generated summary, and the items we extract from it (key points, decisions, questions, tasks, and the people mentioned) are stored and associated with your account and the project you assign them to.
• Audio. Audio is uploaded so it can be transcribed, and is deleted after we generate your summary. We do not retain recordings once a transcript exists.
• Project organization. The projects you create and the way you group conversations, including any notes or answers you add.
• Device identifiers. A randomly generated identifier used to associate data with your device before you create an account.
• Usage and diagnostic data. Basic technical information needed to operate and improve the Service. Our website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics only if you accept them in the consent banner.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core features of the Service — transcribing what was said, generating summaries, and extracting decisions, questions, and tasks.
• To organize your conversations into projects and let you ask questions across your recorded memory.
• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To communicate with you about the Service, including early-access and launch updates if you joined our list.
• To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third parties to operate the Service. Audio and transcripts are processed by AI providers (including OpenAI) for transcription and summarization. Email is delivered through our email provider, and our infrastructure runs on cloud hosting and storage providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention

Audio is deleted after your summary is generated. We keep your transcripts, summaries, extracted items, and account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual conversations or projects at any time within the app. When you delete your account, we delete your conversations, sessions, and account record from our systems.

Your Choices

• You can delete individual conversations or projects at any time in the app.
• You can delete your account from the app's profile settings, which removes your data.
• You can accept or decline analytics on our website, and change your mind by clearing the choice in your browser.
• You can unsubscribe from email updates using the link in any email we send.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
